Touhou Lost Word is a turn-based strategy and gacha game developed in 2020 by NextNinja.

The game takes place in a universe where “lost word incident” takes place causing words to go missing and thus, creating havoc all around and threatening the stability of gensokyo

To counter such massive havoc a team of investigators is set up to find and collect all the lost words and thus, you play as the lead character and travel across multiple universes and win the game to retrieve the lost words.

Understanding Touhou LostWord Gameplay

As already mentioned the game is a turn-based strategy and gacha game.

The gameplay is very complicated so let’s break it down in an easy format for all to understand.

Team: You play as a team of 6 characters and with this team, you are tasked to defeat multiple waves of enemies and unlock the next stages.

HP(health): It represents the health of a character.

Agility: It determines how strong a character is.

Yin attack/ defense: It represents the amount of increase/decrease in attack/defense of yin a friend deals or suffers from. 

Yang attack/defense: It represents the amount of increase/decrease in attack/defense of yang a friend deals or suffers from.

Additionally, each character contains spell cards that can be used multiple times in a stage, they also possess a powerful one last word spell which if used neglects the use of regular spell cards thus, and they cannot be used in the stage if the last word is used.

Story cards: These are an extra set of equipable cards that further enhance a character’s innate abilities and further empower spell cards.

Characters level up: You can level up characters by completing stages entering dojos or schools also by, engaging in services provides exp.

Spirit power: Simply put it’s the source of stamina required to play any game.

Understanding Touhou LostWord Character Classes

Defense: These are characters with high defensive capabilities and protect the party. Focus to draw enemy attack towards itself.

Support: These characters Buffs the party making every character’s abilities exceedingly strong.

Heal: Restores all the character’s HP.

Debuff: Put curses around the enemy decreasing their performance and creating blind spots for party members to attack

Attack: These characters are ideal for dealing damage to the enemy.

Technical: Nondescript specialist

Speed: High in agility characters

Destroyer: Area of effect characters (AoE) [ ps; also called berserkers].

S and S+ tier: These characters are the best in the game and perform well in battles.

A tier: These are similar to s tier characters but, have considerably less power than them. They can though perform the same as s tier characters when provided favorable conditions.

B tier: These are your go-to characters in the game if you are an amateur player. They are also considered powerful.

C tier: These characters are mostly beginner-tier characters and are not so great to play with if you have experience in the game.

D tier: These are not very powerful characters and even after spending a considerable time upgrading them, they can’t seem to perform better than characters of a higher tier.
