PMIS – PUBG Mobile India Series 2020 Announced Officially

Back in 2019, Tencent organized the first-ever PUBG Mobile India Series, or PMIS 2019. The event had a whopping prize pool of INR 1 Crore and earned great popularity among the Indian audience. Now, Tencent is back with the second season of the series, PUBG Mobile India Series or PMIS 2020, with a promise of making it better and grander than before.

 

PUBG Mobile India Series 2020 Teaser

Tencent released the teaser of PMIS 2020 on 25th April. In the video, they showed off a flashback of PMIS 2019 and also announced that PMIS 2020 would be coming soon. However, the date and other details of the tournament are not revealed yet.

Here is the teaser that PUBG Mobile India Official shared on their YouTube Channel. The teaser clearly showcases the name and logo of the series at the end.

The registration details, schedule, prize money, and the format of PMIS 2020 are yet to be announced by Tencent.

PUBG Mobile hasn’t yet confirmed whether PMIS 2020 will be a LAN or an online event, considering the COVID-19 situation in India. PMIS 2020 will be streamed live on ‘PUBG Mobile Esports‘ YouTube channel.

A Brief History of PUBG Mobile India Series and the Things We Know about PMIS 2020

Last year, Team SouL clinched the PMIS 2019 trophy powered by an exceptional performance from Captain SouL Mortal. Clan God’s Reign ended in second place. PUBG Mobile India Series 2019 turned out to be a tournament that gave rise to many professional teams.

The first PMIS had a huge prize pool of about $131,000 with open qualifiers. The tournament earned much praise from fans all over the country.

Fast forward a year, and a lot has changed since the last PUBG Mobile India Series. With big eSports teams like TSM and Fnatic obtaining teams, the general skill base of all the teams has improved a lot.

The Prize Pool for the tournament is increased as well. According to our sources, PMIS 2020 will feature a prize pool of over $165,000.

Presently, the PMPL Scrims Season 3 is on a roll during the lockdown. Scrims Season 3 also features PMPL-qualified teams from South East Asia.

To turn the level of competition up a few notches, the organizers have invited teams like – Bigetron Esports, Morph, Illuminate The Murder, and Team Secret, to face the best teams from South Asia.

The top 16 teams, divided into three groups, will compete with each other for a weekly prize pool of $1500. The leaderboard topper after week one will bag a $1000, while the second and third-placed teams will take home $500 and $300, respectively.
