Welcome to MapleStory wiki. Here is everything you need to know about the game.
MapleStory is a fantasy online game, initially released on Windows. There are other versions of the game that are available on Android, iOS, and Nintendo.
The game takes place primarily in the “Maple World”, where there are dungeons and monsters, and the player has to fight against them while finishing quests. Unlike many other games of this genre, MapleWorld is not dark or violent.
As an online MMORPG, you can customize and strengthen your characters by increasing their abilities and skills. High-level and strong characters will make defeating monsters less complicated compared to weak ones.
This game is available for free on different platforms, but there’s a ‘Cash shop’ inside the game where players can spend real money to purchase characters, items, and various Gameplay enhancements.
MapleStory was first released on April 29, 2003, in Korea for Windows. After that, the game was published for Nintendo DS with single-player mode on April 15, 2010.
It was then released for iOS and Android with the name MapleStory M on May 28, 2018.

Gameplay

MapleStory is a 2D Side scroller MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game). This fantasy-based game is developed by Wizet and published in specific countries or regions by several companies such as Nexon.
The game takes place in the ‘Mapleworld’ which is sunny and bright, and you will have to save it from falling under the evil rule of Black Mage. Like most MMORPGs, the gameplay centers on embarking towards the path of dungeons and combating monsters in real-time.
You as a player will have to fight monsters who are natural inhabitants of the Maple World. By defeating them and completing quests, you will obtain in-game currency in this process, called “Mesos” or “Meru”, experience points (EXP), and other useful items.
In this game, the keyboard and mouse have to be used as controls. The keyboard is used largely for combating skill and toggling lists, whereas the mouse is used for triggering quests from NPC and utilizing items.
MapleStory characters live in 3 worlds. Each world is split up into twenty servers. The player can’t transfer their characters and items between worlds unless they purchase a transfer from the Cash Shop.
