Season 1 will end on 23rd December 2023 with its 12th episode. At the moment, there are no official announcements about a second season. And we believe it’ll be a while before we get an announcement.

More than half of the manga has already been adapted and it’ll take at least a year to have enough content for a sequel. But on the bright side, the manga has been released without delay. So we can expect an announcement anytime in 2025, followed by a release in a few months.

What is The Kingdoms of Ruin About?

Witches and humans once lived in harmony. However, the emergence of technology made humans not only self-independent but also hostile towards witches. Amid this chaos, a young boy named Adonis is raised by a witch. The witch’s death sets him on a path of revenge.

What has happened so far in The Kingdoms of Ruin?

For ages, witches had helped humans and they co-existed peacefully. However, after discovering new technology, humans found witches to be a hindrance. As a result, they started hunting witches. Away from these hunts, Adonis is raised by the Ice Witch, Chloe. But their peaceful life is interrupted when they’re attacked and teleported to the Redia Empire. Chloe is publicly humiliated and killed and Adonis is captured.

Ten years pass and a slave girl named Doroka sets Adonis free. Adonis immediately tries to get revenge on the Redia Empire for killing Chloe. He uses magic and summons a giant being that destroys the empire! Doroka tries to stop him. She reveals that she is a witch and proposes that they can revive Chloe. But before Adonis can get more answers, Doroka is killed!

Adios is also killed by the Redian forces but it is soon revealed his death was a decoy. He has been teleported to the Nation of Witches. The witches explain that they can bring Chloe back to life with his help. But during the resurrection process, Adonis refuses to revive Chloe and revives Doroka instead. He also summons the Redian forces in the Witch’s nation leading to a fierce battle. As a result of the battle, except Adonis and Doroka, everyone on either side dies.

Adonis forces Doroka to join him as her magic can help him. They don’t get along at first but Doroka’s kindness allows them to get along. While visiting Mamuta Ruins, they are attacked by Shirousagi, the Director of Redia’s National Intelligence. In a series of battles, he uses technology to put Adonis at a disadvantage. He attacks Doroka which as a result leaves her blind. On the verge of losing, Doroka finally uses her Love Spell on Adonis, allowing him to gain enhanced power.

Episode 12 will feature the final phase of the battle between Adonis and Shurousagi. It will showcase Adonis’s enhanced powers.

What is The Kingdoms of Ruin Based on?

The Kingdoms of Ruin anime is based on the ongoing manga written by Yoruhashi. It has been published by Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden. At the time of writing, the manga has a total of 50 chapters that have been compiled into 8 completed volumes and an ongoing volume 9.

Season 1 has so far adapted 31 chapters. It is expected that the Season will end in Chapter 32 “ A Silvery World Without Sight ”.

Based on the manga, The Kingdoms of Ruin Season 2 looks promising. Many new characters will be added and there’ll be an abundance of action!
