One stormy night, Cuff accidentally comes across Viktor’s mansion. She reveals that she is a witch. Viktor eagerly inquires about his curse but fails to get a satisfactory answer. To answer his questions, they decide to travel to the Witch’s World. They meet Daleth who reveals that a witch named Sade cursed him. But the curse can’t be broken since she is dead.

Later, Daleth upon sensing danger sends Zain to destroy a logbook in Alice’s possession. But Zain fails to do so as he considers Viktor and others as his friends. He instead uses his powerful time magic to temporarily destroy the logbook.

In the final episode, Viktor meets his mother for the first time after being banished. After a disagreement, Viktor stands up for himself and his siblings and promises to find a way to cure his curse by the coming spring.

In Season 2, Daleth reveals that she is after Zain’s time magic. To do that she attacks them but with the help of Viktor, they manage to stop her. Viktor and others again visit the Witch’s World where Alice finds her mother whom Sade has also cursed. The curse has set her to sleep indefinitely. Daleth reveals that Sade is her twin sister.

Soon after, they’re visited by two wizards who seek their help in defeating Sade by going back in time. They invite Zain and others to join their wizardry school to get stronger.

In the final episode, Viktor along with Zain and others decide to go back in time to meet Sade. Sade, displeased with their visit, tries to attack them. They are luckily able to escape and travel back to the present. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Sharon wakes up from unconsciousness.

The Duke of Death and His Maid is a manga series written by Inoue Koharu. It started serialising in the web magazine, Sunday Webry on October 3, 2017. The series finished on May 17, 2022. It has a total of 16 volumes consisting of 242 chapters. It is Sunday Webry’s most popular series and as of 2021, has sold over a million copies.

Season 1 of the show adapts the first four volumes of the manga covering up till chapter 68 “ Joker ”. Season 2 covers chapters 68.5 to chapter 141 called “ Past-Future Encounter ”. Including the 19 extra chapters, the anime has covered a total of 160 chapters so far.
