League of Legends: Wild Rift is an upcoming multiplayer online battle arena game developed by Riot Games for mobile devices. According to an announcement by the official Twitter handle, the forthcoming mobile title was to start a regional alpha test next month.

Now, the developers have officially unveiled that the alpha testing would start from 6th June and conclude on the 27th of the same month for android users. Unfortunately, the alpha test will only be available to users based in Brazil and the Philippines.

A regional Alpha testing will give developers an opportunity of gauging user response to the core systems from early on. The feedbacks thus collected will prove invaluable in developing an in-game progress system that is likable to players.

How to Participate in the League of Legends: Wild Rift Alpha Testing

Only users based in Brazil and the Philippines are eligible for the Alpha testing. Interested players from the mentioned regions must participate by pre-registering at google play as alpha testing of League of Legends: Wild Rift will only be for android devices. After registration, selected players will receive invitations to participate in the program. The selection process will be random.

Riot games have also disclosed that the testing will be somewhat limited. So not all the players who pre-register will get a chance to alpha test. However, the developers plan to increase the number of players as the alpha test progresses.

Minimum System Requirements to be an alpha tester

Riot Games have specified minimum system requirements that one should have for alpha testing. These are as follows

  1.  64-bit Octa-core processor with 1.5GHz or higher.
  2. A minimum RAM of 3GB.
  3. The minimum display resolution should be 1280×720 pixels.

Though the requirements may seem very steep, these are only for the alpha testing phase. That is to ensure that the game remains stable even in such an early stage of development.

While in the final finished game, the system requirements will undoubtedly be way less demanding.

Recently the devs have also started a video series called Dev Diary on the official youtube channel for League of Legends: Wild Rift. In this, the creators talk about various aspects of the game’s development and the upcoming Alpha test. Check out the video from the official channel below.

The event follows a recent error that occurred on the Google Play store. Players were able to click an install button on the game’s store page that didn’t work. In a tweeted statement, Riot Games later clarified that this was because the developers had mistakenly selected an option that allowed players to opt-in to an Early Access Test, which of course, didn’t exist.

League of Legends: Wild Rift will be available on the App Store and Play Store Globally in the future for iOS and Android devices. However, it is at a very early stage to specify any dates. The game will be free with in-app purchases.
